AC Repair in
Worcester, MA
When your air conditioner stops cooling, Seven Hills HVAC gets a licensed technician to your door fast — with flat-rate pricing you approve before we touch a thing.
Worcester summers don’t wait, and neither do we. Whether you’re in a Main South triple-decker running a ductless mini-split or a newer build in Tatnuck with a central AC system, a failing air conditioner turns into a real problem within hours — not days. Seven Hills HVAC has repaired residential air conditioning systems across Worcester County since 2009, from simple capacitor swaps to full compressor diagnostics, and we send the same background-checked, Massachusetts-licensed technicians every time.
Most AC repair calls in Worcester are handled same-day. Our dispatch is based right here in the city, not routed through a national call center, so when you call before early afternoon there’s a strong chance we’re already on our way. Every repair starts with a flat-rate diagnostic visit and a written quote you approve before any work begins — no exploratory teardown charges, and no pressure to buy a new system when a repair will do the job.
Signs your AC needs repair
Not sure if it’s worth the call? These are the most common reasons Worcester homeowners reach out to us.
Warm or weak airflow
The system runs, but the air isn't cold, or barely reaches the vents.
Strange noises
Grinding, squealing, or banging usually points to a motor or belt issue.
Water pooling nearby
A clogged drain line or frozen coil can cause leaks indoors and out.
Short cycling
Turning on and off in quick bursts wears out the compressor faster.
Higher electric bills
A sudden jump with no change in usage often means reduced efficiency.
Odors from the vents
Musty or burning smells can signal mold growth or an electrical problem.
Unresponsive thermostat
The system won't turn on, or the display is unresponsive or inaccurate.
Humid, sticky indoor air
Struggling to remove moisture is a sign of a failing or oversized unit.
Recognize one or more of these signs?
A technician can usually be at your door the same day.
Common AC repairs we handle in Worcester
From quick electrical fixes to full compressor diagnostics, here’s what most service calls turn out to be.
Refrigerant Leak Detection & Recharge
Low refrigerant means reduced cooling and long-term compressor damage. We locate leaks, repair them, and recharge to factory spec.
Frozen Evaporator Coil
Restricted airflow or low refrigerant can freeze the coil solid. We diagnose the root cause, not just thaw it out.
Condenser Coil Cleaning
A dirty outdoor unit forces your system to work harder and shortens its lifespan year over year.
Ductwork & Airflow Issues
Uneven cooling between rooms is often a duct problem, not the AC unit — especially older triple-deckers.
Compressor Diagnostics
The most expensive part to replace — we always confirm true compressor failure before recommending replacement.
Capacitor & Electrical Repairs
Failed capacitors and relays are one of the most common reasons an AC won’t start — usually fixed the same visit.
Thermostat & Control Board Repair
From dead displays to systems that won’t respond to schedules, we repair or upgrade your controls.
Drain Line & Water Leak Repair
Clogged condensate lines are a leading cause of water damage near indoor air handlers.
Getting your comfort back is simple
The same process every time — whether it's a same-day repair or a full system installation — clear communication and no surprises along the way.
